Wayward Wind is a 1981 S2 9.2a. She is a well maintained and well outfitted blend of sport and cruise owned by a US Coast Guard licensed captain. Back from an 8 month cruise, she is loaded with excellent sailing gear, including: an asymmetrical spinnaker, 155% genoa, a new 135% furling genoa, Garhauer rigid vang, rope clutches (with all halyards and reefing lines led to cockpit), dodger, and bimini. She has a beautiful teak interior with BRAND NEW upholstery and BRAND NEW cabin sole (simulated teak from PlasTeak – very high quality and durable). She sleeps 4 adults comfortably, with room for 6 (V-berth, convertible double settee, settee, and large quarter berth). Her 2 cylinder Yanmar diesel provides extremely reliable service and is in great shape. S2’s are known for their high quality construction and sailing performance. Wayward Wind is a joy to sail and spend extended time aboard (shower, fresh and salt water pumps in galley, large ice box, holding tank with pump-out or overboard discharge, hanging locker, plenty of storage).

Here is another picture of her from the same anchorage - Boca Grande Key (40 miles west of Key West, Florida). Definitely one of our favorite anchorages in Florida - remote, but decent protection in moderate weather. There are also a few wrecks close by that make for good snorkling. Lots of current (tidal). Notice the two anchors...

...looking aft the galley is on the starboard side and the nav-station is on the port side. The settee on the port side expands to a double (nice for guests!). The cabin sole is brand new. We put in simulated teak and holly. Great stuff! http://plasteak.com/

Here she is in the Bahamas sailing wing-and-wing with her asymetrical spinnaker. The spinnaker is a great sail to have for reaching and the asymmetrical is an easy sail to handle (largely because no pole is necessary). Here we are sailing from our anchorage in Nixon Harbor on South Bimini. That night we crossed the banks and anchored in the Berries. The photo was snapped by a couple on their boat. We had crossed the Florida Straits with them a couple of days earlier from Marathon, Florida.

A final shot of her under sail. This one taken from the foredeck, sailing north along the western side of the Exumas in the Bahamas - a broad reach under spinnaker the entire day in 15 knots of air. Sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....The life raft is no longer with the boat, but the teak mounts are. This picture also affords a view of the Garhaur rigid vang and turning blocks that lead all of the halyards and reefing lines to the cockpit. I should also mention that the all of the chain plates and standing rigging was replaced in 2001!
